Lesson:

Children begin to develop problem-solving skills the moment they are born.  Infants learn that if they cry someone will come to comfort them.  This is an early lesson in cause and effect.

Being able to reason and solve problems is an important life skill and will help your child in school.  Young children will develop problem-solving and reasoning skills through play.  Give them plenty of opportunities to think and make choices to help your preschool child develop reasoning skills.  Doing everything for them does not help develop reasoning and logic skills.

The way you speak to your child and ask questions also develops their reasoning, logic and problem solving skills.  You can turn everyday activities into learning opportunities.
