Lesson:  

Preventing Household Accidents:   This article will give you information on how to prevent some accidents at home.  You can print this article and keep it close.  If you have a baby sitter, share the article with him or her.  Read the article on the following website and then complete the activity.

Childproofing Your Home:  If you have children under the age of 5, read the following article.  There are certain things that you must do to keep your children safe.

First Aid:  You can learn more about how to use first aid and what to do in an emergency.  Complete the lessons “First Aid” and “Handling Emergencies” on this family literacy website. 

Activity:  

After reading the article “Preventing Household Accidents”, Print the “Household Safety Checklists” on the following website.  You will complete six checklists.  There is one for each area of your home.
