Lesson:

To help prevent abuse in your family is to understand what abuse really is and how to identify it.

There are four different types of abuse:

o       Emotional

o       Neglect

o       Physical

o       Sexual

There are two basic ways to prevent abuse in your own family:

1)     Show your children that you love them, and

2)   Reduce stress in your own life.

Activity:

1.      Go to the website http://www.kidsafe-caps.org/abuse.html and read about the four different types of abuse.   As you read, complete activity handout.

3.      Go to the website http://www.cdipage.com/.  Read about how to reduce stress in your own life.
